1991 – David & Bobby Melton open B&D Fabricating in Alamogordo, NM
1992 – David & Bobby move B&D to Las Cruces, NM
1992-2003 – B&D develops and improves their flatbed designs and pickup rack designs along with growing the company and providing quality truck equipment for the Southwest.
Gary and Chelsea grow up in the shop learning about truck equipment, welding, and vehicle accessories.
2004 – Steel crisis causes B&D to close
2005-2015 – Bobby sets up multiple companies in Truck Equipment while Gary & Chelsea are completing school.
2016 – Bobby opened C&G Fabrication & Welding so Gary and Chelsea could start learning the industry full time
2018 – C&G Fabrication & Welding closed due to Bobby’s health and extenuating circumstances. (Side note is he is healthy now!)
Gary, Chelsea, & Grant sat down and decided they would like to continue on. Melton Metals DBA C&Gs was created.
2019 – Present – Melton Metals DBA C&Gs has been improving and developing designs for their truck body line, pickup rack line, and other products.
As third generation Truck Equipment Specialists, they are not alone as David and Bobby are still around for advice and expertise. Most days you will find both of them in the shop working on their own projects or helping with projects in the shop.
The main goal is to continue to provide quality Truck Equipment, Fabrication, Vehicle Accessories, Service, and Parts to the Southwest and beyond for years to come.
